FIFA 18 will feature The Journey Season 2

Alex Hunter may be back.

In a shocking move, EA Sports announced that FIFA 18 will be made and released in 2017. Okay, so maybe that’s not shocking considering the series is consistently one of the best selling games in the world. However, EA did reveal one important piece of news about the next installment of their soccer/football game by announcing that “The Journey: Season 2” will be featured.

"FIFA 18 will build on the foundation we created with story mode this year, bringing players back to The Journey with Season 2, featuring new characters and new storylines," said EA CEO Andrew Wilson

“The Journey” followed the birth of aspiring pro Alex Hunter’s career from the FA trials all the way to his Premier League debut. It was a bold new mode introduced by EA that obviously tried to borrow from the NBA 2k “My Player” mode. While interesting at first, the overall story lacked depth and intricacies you would hope for.

We can only hope that “The Journey: Season 2” revamps its story and allows for some different outcomes based on your in-game actions rather than one narrow line from start to finish.
