A stream of constant FIFA 17 content releases seem to be slowing to a crawl and with the end of the Ratings Refresh cycle and no Champions League/Europa games this week, there’s never been a better time to put an end to league-specific Weekend League squad requirements.
While there’s less motivation to specialize in the Bundesliga or La Liga Santanders of the world than in recent weekends, this week’s FUT Team of the Week could be as spicy as any in recent memory. Let’s take a look at the players that might feature in what should be an enticing TOTW.
Harry Kane’s been regularly reasserting himself as one of the premier strikers in the highest level of football. You probably wouldn’t be at fault for expecting his goal scoring output to drop with the degree of difficulty increasing from a Championship opponent in the FA Cup to the Premier League, but Kane had no problem finding the back of the net, even against a Stoke City side coming off a shutout. With another hat trick to his name, expect Harry Kane’s first 90 rated card of this FUT life cycle.
Speaking of world class strikers, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski continues to showcase while all the top clubs keep being linked to him, scoring an effortless hat-trick during an 8-0 demolition of potentially relegation bound Hamburger SV — in less than 60 minutes, no less. His der Rekordmeister teammate Thomas Müller celebrates a bit of a return to form in his own right, finishing the same match with a pair of assists and a high rating to boot.
Radja Nainggolan was expected by some to sneak into Team of the Week 23, but continuing a powerhouse 2016-2017 campaign for AS Roma, the Belgian midfield force looks set to garner a third FIFA 17 special card for his performance in the San Siro in a 3-1 win over Internazionale.
Nainggolan and the aforementioned Kane lead a slew of recently “Ratings Refresh”-ed players we expect to make this TOTW. Feyenoord attacker Jens Toornstra, Real Sociedad keeper/FIFA Mobile superhero Geronimo Rulli, Juventus loanee Atalanta centerback Mattia Caldara, and Everton defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye all could get their first post-ratings upgrade in-forms.
Finally, on the Ones to Watch front, this looks like a great weekend for rewarding those holding on to pack pulls from the Winter Tradeable OTW Squad Building Challenege. Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt, a long time Premier League LB squad building staple, and former wantaway winger Memphis Depay, now of Lyon, are both set to get their first OTW ratings boosts of the second half of the season.
