For anyone who is unfamiliar with FIFA Mobile, each week five new 'Impact' Players are released into packs. These players can then get an upgrade, based on their performance in the game of that weekend - similar to Ones To Watch cards on Console FIFA, but only for one weekend, not a whole season.
These five players then receive a +1 in rating and a stat upgrade based on how many Shots, Key Passes and Interceptions they make, with EA using both WhoScored and SofaScore to determine their upgrade.
The players are upgraded on the following Tuesday, normally at some point between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET.
Andrés Guardado (82 CDM)
In the last 5 weeks, Guardado's scores have been all over the place, ranging from +2 to +9. However, he seems to do much better at home and also against lower ranked opposition, so this game should be a good score for him. He always gets a wide range of points from different places, but in this game I expect him to get most of his points from key passes, with possibly a couple of shots and interceptions.
Plays: Roda (H) 1:45 p.m. (ET)
Prediction:+6
Result: +5
A solid performance from PSV's engine player, with 4 Key Passes and 1 Interception, he helped out with 1 assist in his side's to a 4-0 win against Roda, moving himself to 87 Overall.
Mário Fernandes (80 RM)
For some reason, EA made him a RM but he plays RB for CSKA. This week, 3rd place CSKA host 2nd place Zenit in what should be a very close game. Fernandes always gets heavily involved, and has made 22 interceptions in his last 5 games, and averaged at +4,8 over that period.
Zenit should prove tough competition, with threats such as Giuliano and Dzyuba, so a big upgrade for Fernandes is fairly likely.
Plays: Zenit (H) 8:30 a.m. (ET)
Prediction: +6
Result: +6
A solid performance for the Brazilian full back, helping CSKA hold Zenit to a 0-0 draw. He made 2 Shots, 2 Key Passes and 2 Interceptions, which boosts him to a decent rating of 86 Overall.
Mauricio Lemos (79 CB)
Las Palmas host bottom of the table Osasuna in what should be a routine win for the home side. Sadly, this normally doesn't mean good news for defensive impact players, as it is very likely that Las Palmas will dominate the game, limiting Osasuna's chances of attack and Lemos' chances of scoring points. He may gain a couple of points for interceptions but I think he may end up scoring as many, attacking points from shots.
Plays: Osasuna (H) 12:30 p.m. (ET)
Prediction: +3
Result: +2
Las Palmas came from behind to win 5-2 against Osasuna, in what looked like a very open game. Sadly for us, Lemos made no defensive contribution, and his upgrade points came from 2 Shots he had fairly early on in the match, before he was substituted in the 84th minute
Alex Telles (78 LB)
Porto host 2nd bottom Nacional this week in a must win game to keep pace with league leaders Benfica. Telles has been performing quite well recently, and has been getting points in all areas, with at least +1 in every stat in his last 5 games (except 1 game where he had 0 shots). However, he doesn't normally score too many points in any one area - max is +3 interceptions in one game - so his upgrade won't be too big.
Plays: Nacional (H) 1:15 p.m. (ET)
Prediction: +4
Result: +8
Porto ran Nacional riot in a game that ended 7-0 to the home side. Telles chipped in with 1 assist, but it is his 1 Shot, 5 Key Passes and 2 Interceptions that we are more interested in, boosting him to an 86 Overall.
Luis Muriel (78 ST)
A FIFA 13 Legend on console, Muriel has hit form in the last few weeks, with just a blip last week when he was benched. Facing Pescara - the team who are bottom of the league and also have the worst defensive record in the league, conceding 24 in their last 8 games - the potential upgrade for Muriel is pretty high with lots of shots likely, that being if he regains his spot in the Starting XI.
Plays: Pescara (H) 12 p.m. (ET)
Prediction: +8
Result: +5
Sampdoria continued Pescara's recent average of 3 goals conceded in a game thanks to a solid performance from Bruno Fernandes. Muriel helped out by assisting the first goal, having 3 Shots and 2 Key Passes before sadly being substituted after just over 60 minutes, limiting his potential upgrade.
