FIFA Mobile Impact Player Final Upgrades for 4/18

Schweini leads the way.

With a busy weekend of special promotions in-store for FIFA Mobile, the calm before the storm is the latest round of Impact Players.

Crystal Palace has been sorely in need of a special item, and this week obliges. Fellow PL side Southampton also sees a potentially Elite item introduced. While no longer amongst their ranks, a recent Manchester United wantaway sees his first special card with his new club. It wouldn’t be Impacts without some La Liga representation either. And with the Russian League season its infancy, a quasi-OOP player gets a shot at an Elite striker card.

See who made this week’s cut and what their ratings adjustment could look like when everything’s said and done.

Bastian Schweinsteiger (85 CM)

After a disappointing spell at Manchester United, Schweini has finally found the freedom he craves at Chicago Fire, and is wasting no time in proving he's not still got it. With a goal inside 20 minutes of his debut, he is in good form - picking up 6 Impact points on both of his appearances to date. New England could prove difficult opponents, but I expect Schweini to keep performing as well as he has been in the past few weeks meaning a 90+ rated card certainly isn't out of the question

Plays: New England Revolution (H), Saturday 10:00 p.m. (BST) / 5:00 p.m. (ET)

Prediction: +5

Result: +7

An excellent performance from the former German international saw him help lead Chicago Fire to another win, scoring one himself as the match ended 3-0.

With 2 Shots, 4 Key Passes and an Interception, an upgrade to 92 for Schweini will see him move to the same rating as his upgraded Freeze card, but with better stats.

Jonathan Viera (79 CAM)

If you're wanting to watch a game with lots of goals, Las Palmas are a good side to watch. Fronted by Jese Rodriguez and Kevin Prince Boateng they have a great attack, but their star man is Jonathan Viera. Playing a key role for the mid-table side, he is at the heart of a lot of their attacks meaning he gets quite a few key passes which will help boost his OVR.

Athletic Bilbao will prove a tough opponent, but he should be able to get to elite easily enough.

Plays: Athletic Bilbao (A), Friday 7:45 p.m. (BST) / 2:45 p.m. (ET)

Prediction: +4

Result: +3

Las Palmas didn't disappoint once again, with 6 goals being scored in the game. Sadly for them, they lost 5-1 to Bilbao.

Viera also had a poor game, and was substituted midway through the second half. He did manage to have 1 Shot and make 2 Key Passes, so will be upgraded to 82 Overall

Wilfried Zaha (79 RM)

With 5 wins in their last 6 games, Crystal Palace have started their escape from the relegation battle. Just 6 weeks ago they were sitting in 19th place and 2 points from safety, now they are 6 points clear and, after a few surprising wins over big teams like Chelsea and Arsenal, their confidence is high.

One player who has been particularly impressive over that stretch is Zaha, who has scored 2 and set up 3 in those matches, with an average of +4 Impact Points per game.

With this game coming in the weekend Leicester's Champions League ties, Palace have a great chance to improve their position and get another much needed win, and Zaha to earn a big upgrade for us.

Plays: Leicester (H), 3:00 p.m. (BST) / 10:00 a.m. (ET)

Prediction: +6

Result: +4

A fairly average performance from Zaha in Palace's 2-2 draw against a half-strength Leicester side saw him miss out on a very big upgrade. He did manage to have 3 Shots and make 1 Key Pass before being substituted, meaning he will move to 83 Overall.

Fedor Smolov (79 ST)

Despite missing 2 months of the season through injury, Smolov is still the Russian League top scorer with and they have missed him massively. The 27 year old has scored 12 of their 29 goals this season - 3 times more than the next best scorer. However, goals don't equal Impact Points, as he has only had 2 shots in each of the games since his comeback. 10th placed Rubin Kazan should give him a good chance to get among the goals again, so he should easily get to an Elite card.

Plays: Rubin Kazan (A), Saturday 5:30 p.m. (BST) / 12:30 p.m. (ET)

Prediction: +3

Result: +10

Safe to say I got this one pretty wrong. Smolov scored the only goal in a 1-0 win for Krasnodar. He must have known that he was an Impact Player this week, and had 8 Shots and made 2 Key Passes. This means that he will join the +10 club, and have a very nice card with 95+ pace and only need +1 to roulette.

Nathan Redmond (76 LM)

Southampton host a Manchester City side who are desperate to keep their 4 point lead over rivals Manchester United for the Champions League qualifier spot. The Saints' are in good form, even without new signing Gabbiadini, who has been an instant impact for them. In his recent absence due to injury, one of the players to step up has been Redmond who has scored 3 in his last 5. His Impact scores have ranged from 1 to 9, so he may have a stormer, he may be non-existent, but I think he could do quite well. Whether he makes it to Elite though or not remains to be seen.

Plays: Manchester City (H), Saturday, 5:30 p.m. (BST) / 12:30 p.m. (ET)

Prediction: +3

Result: +3

Southampton managed to hold off Manchester City's attacks until the 55th minute, when injury free Vincent Kompany put the visitors ahead. City's dominance is evident in the fact that Redmond made 0 Shots or Key Passes, getting all 3 of his upgrade points from Interceptions
